Pinky Tales: Who's that Pinky? - Part 5 - THE BLOG CHALLENGE
THE BLOG CHALLENGE:
Since I have an army of Pinky Street dolls, and I've acquired a few more during my Japan trip, it's become slightly more challenging to come up with names for all of them. I thought it would be kinda fun to brainstorm with my awesome blog readers. In addition, my birthday is coming up and what better way to celebrate than by giving something back to you, readers, who have endured my doll ramblings for a good year or so now.
THE RULES ARE SIMPLE:
-Help me name Miele's (pronounced MEE-lay) cousin. I love funky, out of the ordinary names, so creativity is always a plus.
-Enter the name by leaving a comment on this blog post.
-Enter as many times as you like. I will only choose one so the more you enter, the better your chances.
-The last day to enter is Wednesday, June 22, 2011.
-The winner will be announced on Thursday, June 23, 2011, my birthday!
-The winner will have to contact me through EMAIL to make arrangements on where to ship his/her winnings.
-Anyone can enter (...unless you're Helena or Pamela! Hahahaha!)
HERE'S WHAT YOU CAN WIN:
I brought her straight from Japan. I've deliberately done 'Pinky Tales' leading up to this challenge to help you get a feel of what Pinky Street is all about and how much fun you can have with them. I thought it might also help with your brainstorming. If you need more inspiration, you can always check out Little Nunu's Travels.
If you are reading this blog, you're probably a fashion doll collector. As a fashion doll collector, miniatures have always added extra fun to my doll collecting so I couldn't have a prize pack without a little something specifically geared towards fashion dolls. To have an idea of what the two surprise Orcara boxes might contain, check out Miniature Monday #15: Happy Hour.
I hope you take the challenge. Have fun and good luck!
These dolls are super cute! Love them.. Ugh! right now I don't need a new collection to spend money on. But how can you refuse these little faces. lol I think Siddalee would make a great name..

Hello T! Thanks so much for the fun, explanatory e-mails you sent me! I fell in love with these cuties. Thanks to you, I have just bought the first book with pictures of them. Dolls will soon follow, I am sure!
ReplyDeleteBut naming a cutie like this? Pooh! That is difficult. My first thought was: she reminds me of one of the Spice Girls.
Spicy sounds good?
Or a Swedish name - Ullis? (short for Ulrika)
Hmmm, these 2 names don't really qualify as "funky", so I will ponder a little more.
And if it is your birthday soon - we will all need to know where to send cake! :):)
Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteName her Saule ,
which is sun in Lithuanian :)
Name her Miss Mika. It seems fitting for her but whatever you name her it will be cute and fitting her. Hope you have a Happy Birthday and an awsome week. Much Love Cari ^-^
ReplyDeleteMy impressions when I first saw her . . .
ReplyDeleteEllie Mae Clampett (who loves animals)
Polly Anna (always a kind cheerful thought or deed)
Pippi "Shortstocking" (adventurous! just to be different but from Sweden also)
Punky or Pinky Brewster (or Pinky Punky Brewster?)
Cindy or Sindee/Cindee Brady
Gertie (from ET, none of the children in that movie had a last name)
Annie Bananie (children's book character)
Judy Judy Judy (or Carrie/Kari Grant?)
Then just thinking of other names:
Calliope
Pixie
Cookie
Micki
Mindy
Wendy
Katie-Dee
Tamica
Suki
Trina
Zara
Zena/Zeanie
Thanks for your email response and for the invite to your super exciting Pinky naming contest!
Many blessings for a wonderful happy birthday and wishes for a blessed and healthy life!
Okay... *clears throat* I think she looks like a 'Marnie'.

~Brooke (ashsero(at)gmail(dot)com
Oh no! I just discovered your blog two days ago ... an the deadline for Pinky-Names is over >__<
ReplyDeletebtw: I really love your blog!!! *__*
To my mind the cousin looks kinda german XD So what about a typical german name?
Maybe "Gretel" (like in the fairytale of "Hänsel und Gretel")
or sweeter "Gretchen"
More names:
"Cami"
"Henrietta"
"Claes"
Hope you had a nice birthday (incl. Party). I'm looking forward your decision about the name and the next part in the Pinky Blog
