Nana

Once in a while, I revisit some old animes I have in my collection and have anime marathons since regular tv's been showing nothing but useless junk of late.  I had just been watching Nana....awesome, awesome anime, by the way.  It was left unfinished a few years back though.  As far as I know, there hasn't been anything new and the anime won't be having anything new until the manga is over.  Who knows...The ending was such a cliffhanger, I'm bound to go to a comic book store soon and succumb to purchasing the manga just to find out what happens...*sigh*....When will the spending stop???

So,  I was just watching the ending and thought I'd share some interesting bits.  For some reason, I always find it fascinating to see dolls incorporated into shows.  Here are some scenes from episode 47, the last one that's been made.

The little girl Satsuki makes her appearance in the last episode...yeah, go figure.  She gets a present from her mommy Nana's old friend, Nobu.

Surprise!  It's a fashion doll called Yumeko, wearing a summer kimono.  She excitedly shows it off to mommy!

Here's the doll's close-up.  She's apparently a "Retro Changeable Doll".  I'm not sure what that means.  Maybe she's a vintage reproduction?

Unlike some NFRB collectors out there, Satsuki wasted no time to unpack her new Yumeko doll.

Quick Synopsis:
Two girls meet up on a train going to Tokyo, both named Nana, both aged 20 years old, same desire to break free of previous lifestyles and make it into the world on their own.  One doesn't really have any idea what to do with her life and just goes with the flow for the most part.  She also wears her heart on her sleeve and falls for virtually every cute guy she meets.  One is more impassive but extremely ambitious, with a very strong desire to become a rockstar.  By way of fate, they end up being roommates.  The aloof Nana gets sucked into ambitous Nana's shiny world of music and fame.
