Zef Relives the 18th Century
Freeze Frame Avant Guard, Zef By Integrity Toys |
I was so excited to get this Marie Antoinette inspired attire in the mail yesterday. Today, the wig, that I had ordered separately to match it, arrived and I just couldn't wait to share!
The dress, headdress, mask and parasol are by Kay Brooke, this attire being my third purchase from her. The first two can be seen HERE and HERE.
Kay's got a real knack for sewing such exquisite old world ensembles. Lots of attention to details. LOTS of details. And like anything miniature, detail is everything. I'm so happy to have snagged this one from Ebay after missing out on her other auction.
As you can see, this dress is very intricately designed from front to back and top to bottom with hand-sewn beading all over the place. This is precisely why I always jump at the chance to own a Kay creation when I do come by one. That porcelain mask alone, which she created herself from a mold, is just plain cool!
Funny how I'm not a great admirer of modern ball gowns on my dolls but I really really love the rococo style. So much more dramatic. And I think the wig I got for Zef completes the ensemble. Just don't ask her about her shoes...She's barefoot underneath. I couldn't find the right shoes!
Happy Tuesday!
