Dolls and their Friends...

Peggy Plasty

There are so many different dolls out there. It's not so easy to focus a collection on one thing. At least I have that problem. Sometimes you fall in love with a doll totally different from your normal purchases. And sometimes the curiosity just gets the better of you first and then the love follows.

In the case of Peggy by Plasty, it was really more a curiosity. I had seen a few photos of her from other doll collectors. She did remind me of Francie. She's been called a Francie clone. Being a huge fan of Barbie's cousin, I wanted to know the difference for myself.

When I got my own Peggy doll, I realized that she had her own charm...Not enough, however, to make me want to have another. One reason is that I don't have a lot of tiny doll clothes that fit her nicely. She's got really small feet too. Sometimes I do wish she had a sister doll though, so she wouldn't be so alone. She looks so sullen all the time, as if she's eternally searching for a friend.

Maybe one day she'll end up with a fellow Plasty doll friend. The platinum-haired ones are cute. For now, she'll just have to settle hanging around different dolls, like Maru, also the only one of her kind in my collection.

And, of course, there's Francie...although Francie kinda makes her feel small...without meaning to, of course.

  1. Aww, she does look a little sad :-( She looks to be in great shape! Until I saw her next to Francie, I didn't realize how small she was. Will she fit in Skipper clothes?

    1. I only have one Skipper and I've never taken her off the birthday dress she's wearing so I never thought about it but I think Peggy will fit into her clothes, definitely not the shoes though.

    1. I have shoes problem for Peggy too. She's the only doll I have with such skinny tiny feet.

  3. Aw, she's darling! I love her side pony - and her outfit is so cute - did she come with it?

  4. She has a very sweet face. I, too, didn't realise how small she is until I saw her next to Francie. How tall is she?

    1. I literally just checked! Hahaha! To answer your question, she is Skipper's height but her body seems a tad smaller and Peggy definitely has teeny tiny feet compared to Skipper.

  5. She's really cute. I didn't know vintage Peggy dolls hade that Francie clone look. My Peggy is from the 90s and uses a completely different mold (although she still looks very sullen!). I think she's basically Petra's little sister/Skipper equivalent.

  6. Your Francie looks gorgeous. Peggy looks cute but not as high fashion as Francie. Then again, Peggy is not Barbie's cousin ;-D
